"Lest We Forget"

2008-2009
Department of New York VFW POW/MIA Program
This is the Department of New York Veterans of Foreign Wars POW/MIA program kit for 2008-2009.
1. DATE: Third week in APRIL 2009.
2. SERVICE IN REMEMBRANCE OF POW/MIAs: A Service of your choice should be held in a House of Worship or your Post headquarters. You may want to include the "Missing Man" Ceremony with your service, you can find this at www.aiipowmia.com/histories/histcere1.html. For much more information on POW-MIA Issues Go BACK to POW MIA Histories Menu.
3. TYPE OF SERVICE: The service should be one that will make people aware of the plight of our POW/MIAs. Press release should be placed in your local newspapers. Invitations could be sent to all Organizations in your area. At some part of your program, a POW/MIA Flag could be presented to a worthy organization.
4. We are continuing to ask for donations that will be turned over to the NATIONAL ALLIANCE OF FAMILIES. We have been trying to raise $5,000 dollars. This will support the Alliance for an entire year, so please give generously to this project.
5. SPECIAL PROJECT BOOKS: For some reason, you the comrades and sisters are supporting the program, but are not sharing your accomplishments by sending in a special program book. All books are to be in the mail by May 31st, 2009. Mail all entries to: Vinnie Espisito, 3758 Sarah Drive, Wantagh, NY 11793.
6. Please support the Department of New York VFW POW-MIA program with your purchase of Patches, Decals, or Pins: you can order them through Vinnie Espisito for $26.00 a dozen plus $3.00 for postage for them.
